Preliminary assessment of the quality of HY-2A satellite sea surface height data

摘要: 对HY-2A卫星雷达高度计数据进行筛选获取有效的观测点,利用HY-2A卫星第18~23周期数据和同时在轨的Jason-2数据进行交叉点选取,对两颗卫星在交叉点海面高度异常值的差值进行统计与分析,提出了基于交叉点差值统计特征的筛除HY-2A轨道数据方法,评估了HY-2A卫星雷达高度数据质量。结果显示,HY-2A卫星18~23周期阈值筛选去除的点个数占总海洋观测点约12%,HY-2A海面高度异常与Jason-2海面高度异常的标准偏差在7.0 cm,数据精度满足设计精度要求。Abstract: The HY-2A radar altimeter effective measurements of the sea surface height (SSH) were selected using the IGDR editorial criteria. The crossover points of HY-2A satellite SSH data from cycle 18 to 23 and Jason-2 data within 5 days were determined. The erroneous measurement orbits were removed based on crossover statistics of HY-2A and Jason-2. The quality of the HY-2A SSH data is evaluated using statistics of crossover difference analysis. The cross calibration results show that the number of HY-2A data points removed by the editorial criteria is about 12% of the total HY-2A SSH observations. It is found in this study the standard deviation of SSH between HY-2A satellite and Jason-2 is 7.0 cm for the HY-2A cycles used in this study, and the accuracy of SSH measurements of HY-2A meets the requirements of sensor design.
